Dutch architectural firm Haiko Cornelissen Architecten has taken green to a whole new level with their picNYC table. Designed to bring the outdoors inside, this table actually has to be taken care of like a regular lawn, making it rather high maintenance despite the fact that cleaning spills would be fairly easy. If you aren’t so keen on having an indoor picnic, this table also works as a chic indoor garden. Just place it in a well light area, start planting your favorite flowers or even vegetables, and you can have your own little green oasis, even if you live in an urban setting! So, take … (read more).

For those not familiar with this community driven site, each design is chosen from hundreds of submissions based on the votes of nearly one and a half million members and then put into production. Not only are the bottles BPA free, but they follow the hip, graphic appeal of their fun shirts. So if you are an environmentally conscious consumer who hasn’t picked … (read more).

Many washing machines currently out on the market are focused on using less water, but what if there was a machine that used practically no water or detergent at all? Now, with a device developed by Leeds-based Xeros Ltd, this method of “dry” cleaning might soon become available with a washing machine that uses 90% less water than a normal laundry cycle. All you need is a little cup of water and then tiny, 3mm-long nylon beads are used to take care of the stains. Its producers also claim it will reduce household energy bills. How does it work? The beads … (read more).

These ravishing and artistic paper tables were designed by Matt Gagnon Studio, located in California. The paper tables that mimic the look of rock formations are made from layers of recycled paper that have been laser cut and bolted together. According to the artist, these “paper tables” were inspired by the rock formations of the American southwest. The carvings and slats on the body of these recycled paper tables allow one to insert books, magazines, and other reading materials. If you are tired of large piles of books sitting around your house and want to transform your current reading into an artistic object, here you have it! These sculptural masterpieces can add a natural yet contemporary feel to your home. (read more).
